What to do about pediatric pyelonephritis

Children with pyelonephritis need to be given antibiotics to fight the infection, and the cause of pyelonephritis needs to be actively sought. Pyelonephritis is an infectious disease of the kidneys, which is less common in children, both boys and girls. The antibiotics chosen should be sensitive to pyelonephritis in children on the one hand, and less toxic to children on the other. The most appropriate antibiotics are penicillin and cephalosporin, such as penicillin sodium for injection and cefoperazone. The total course of treatment is about two weeks. If the course of treatment is relatively short, the child may not be cured and should be urged to drink more water and urinate more often during the treatment period to help flush out the bacteria and promote recovery from the disease. Actively look for the cause of pyelonephritis in children, as it is relatively rare for this group to get this disease, and the more common cause is the narrowing of the renal pelvis and ureteral junction. Of course, there are other causes that need to be ruled out one by one.
