What does saddle area lesion mean?

Benign tumors such as pituitary tumors are divided into microadenoma, macroadenoma and giant adenoma. Microadenomas are more common and most patients do not have any symptoms, but are detected by CT or MRI of the skull for other diseases. In the case of large pituitary tumors, there may be symptoms of compression, such as visual field loss or loss of vision due to compression of the optic cross, and some may cause changes in sex hormones. Female patients may experience irregular menstruation, menopause, and lactation, while male patients may experience breast development and some patients may experience sexual dysfunction. If a pituitary tumor is found, it is best to consult with the Department of Brain Surgery to see if surgery is needed.
