Can youthful schizophrenia be treated?

For the treatment of adolescent schizophrenia, current treatments can achieve relatively good results, but this also depends on whether treatment is received in a timely manner and whether treatment is standardized. This type of schizophrenia tends to progress more rapidly and fluctuate more, and some patients are still poorly treated even with various treatments and are prone to decline. However, youthful schizophrenia is all typed according to the previous diagnostic criteria, and the new ICD-11 diagnostic criteria have eliminated the typing of schizophrenia. The current treatment for schizophrenia advocates a whole-course treatment concept as well as management, i.e. early detection, early treatment and the principles of adequate amount, adequate course and individualized treatment. Adequate course means 1-2 months of treatment in the acute phase, at least 3-6 months in the consolidation phase and 3-5 years or even longer in the maintenance phase, and in case of more than 2 episodes, lifelong medication is generally recommended.
