How often is a gastroscopy performed?

According to the first gastroscopy report, if the first gastroscopy result is chronic atrophic gastritis, it should be reviewed regularly; patients with mild atrophic gastritis should normally have a gastroscopy at least every 5 years; patients with moderate atrophic gastritis should have a gastroscopy at least every 3 years; and patients with severe atrophic gastritis should have a gastroscopy every 1 year.

If a patient with atrophic gastritis is complicated by intestinalization or heterogeneous hyperplasia, the gastroscopy review time should be shortened: patients with mild heterogeneous hyperplasia should be scheduled for review within 1 year; patients with moderate heterogeneous hyperplasia should be reviewed within 3 months; patients with severe heterogeneous hyperplasia should be closely monitored for changes in their condition and reviewed and treated for short periods of time based on symptoms.

Patients with new gastric ulcers have a gastroscopic review in about 3 months.

Postoperative patients with gastric cancer have a gastroscopy review time of about 6 months, with the interval between gastroscopies gradually increasing after the disease has stabilized.
