Pulse generally refers to the radial artery beat, normal people’s pulse and heart beat is consistent, under the quiet state of the pulse 60 ~ 100 times per minute is normal; some diseases such as atrial fibrillation, the patient’s heartbeat is greater than the number of times the pulse, the need to determine the heart rate through cardiac auscultation, can not be simple to feel the pulse.
Pulse and heartbeat inconsistency also exists, such as atrial fibrillation patients, there will be a short pulse, the number of heartbeats is greater than the number of pulse, even if the patient’s pulse is in the 60~100 beats / minute, but due to arrhythmia, can not be considered that such a pulse is normal, need to be through the heart auscultation to calculate the patient’s heart rate.
A heart rate of <60 beats/min is called bradycardia, >100 beats/min is called tachycardia. The heart rate rises physiologically during exercise or emotional stress and falls naturally after rest. When the patient’s heart rate is not within the normal range, or panic, chest tightness, fatigue and other symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, to clarify the cause, and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
