Pathology consultation is part of our outpatient work and is responsible for reviewing pathology slides from outside hospitals of patients who come to our clinic, with the aim of ensuring accurate and rigorous disease diagnosis. In addition to meeting the needs of outpatients, there are some patients who come specifically for pathology consultation to confirm the pathological diagnosis of the original unit. At present, we offer general outpatient consultation and special need outpatient consultation. Pathology consultation process and precautions 1. Scope of consultation: limited to outside pathology sections; 2. Due to the computerized management of the hospital, you must apply for the consultation card of Peking Union Medical College Hospital before the consultation (there are card points in the first floor lobby and registration office); 3. Consultation experts: experts with senior titles or above in the Department of Pathology of Peking Union Medical College Hospital; special consultation experts are all famous experts (chief physicians for more than 3 years) of Peking Union Medical College Hospital. 4.Number queue: Patients or patients’ family members coming to the consultation should line up at the nurse station on the 4th floor of the outpatient clinic to get the consultation number for free on the same day; there is no limit to the number of pathology consultation, so don’t buy the number of the traffickers at a high price. A. External pathology section (HE section and immunohistochemistry section), wax block or white film (10 sheets) attached to immunohistochemistry slide for difficult cases; B. Medical records, including clinical manifestations, relevant auxiliary examinations and surgical records, etc. If the lesion is tumor, the site, size, color, texture and relationship with surrounding tissues should be stated; C. External pathology report. pathology report, the pathology report should be consistent with the slice and wax block number; no report and slice and wax block without label and original unit number will not be accepted; D. Lung non-neoplastic diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, interstitial lung diseases, etc.), bone tissue diseases and central system lesions should bring relevant imaging data (X-rays, CT, MRI). 6.Payment of fees: After registering for the consultation in the consultation room, please go to the payment counter with your consultation card to pay the fees. There is a fee office on each floor of the outpatient building, you can go to any fee window to pay the fee. 7.Return to the consultation room, complete the consultation registration and leave your consultation information (some patients leave with the slices after paying the fee, but come to pick up the report after a few days), the receiving doctor will leave the consultation report inquiry phone number; 8.Take the results: the results of the general consultation will be issued 3 working days after the procedure, the consultation time for cases requiring additional immunohistochemistry should be extended by 1-3 working days; for those who do genetic testing, it should be increased by 3-5 The consultation time will be extended by 1-3 working days for cases requiring additional immunohistochemistry and by 3-5 working days for genetic testing; call 69159388 during working hours to inquire whether the consultation report is available; 9. Special Needs Consultation: Special Needs Consultation is available when the disease is more difficult or the pathology consultation report is urgently needed. The report will be issued in 1 working day for those who do not need to do special staining, immunohistochemistry or genetic examination. Most of the reports are accepted in the morning and available in the afternoon, but there is no promise that the report will be issued on the same day. （Other fees include additional staining of HE sections, special staining, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, gene rearrangement, and various genetic tests, which are charged according to the relevant regulations in Beijing. The pathologist will carefully select the above pathological diagnostic techniques according to the diagnostic needs of the disease, and the fee is not included in the expert consultation fee. If you agree to the test, please sign and confirm on the consultation application form and pay the fee when you pick up the pathology report. Consultation results: The pathology consultation report is a third-party consultation opinion and cannot be used as a direct basis for patient treatment. Because the medical history, clinical symptoms and signs, laboratory tests, imaging data, as well as the original unit biopsy site, tissue processing production, etc., will have an impact on the final consultation results. The pathology consultation report can be provided to the pathologists and clinicians of the treating hospital for their reference when diagnosing and treating the disease.
