How long can you live with lupus erythematosus?

Systemic lupus erythematosus is one of the more dangerous rheumatic immune diseases, which can invade many systemic organs of the human body and used to have a high mortality rate. However, with the improvement of treatment, the prognosis of this disease has been significantly improved, and the average survival of patients is greatly improved. Some patients with SLE have only a few systemic organ lesions, such as skin rash and arthritis. The prognosis is generally good. However, some patients may develop irreversible damage to important organs such as lung, heart and kidney, which is more damaging to body functions and has a certain mortality rate. However, with the increase of early diagnosis methods and the improvement of treatment level, the 10-year survival rate of SLE patients has reached 90% and the 15-year survival rate can reach 80%, and most patients can work and live like normal people. However, it should be noted that due to the complex and diverse clinical manifestations of SLE, the severity of the disease varies from patient to patient. For patients with acute onset, rapid disease progression, severe lupus with serious damage to several important organs, or lupus crisis, the disease is more dangerous and still has a certain mortality rate if not actively treated. For patients with lupus erythematosus, it is most important to maintain an optimistic attitude to actively treat and effectively control the disease.
