The severity of multiple hypoechoic nodules in the liver cannot be generalized, and the severity of the condition varies according to the nature of the nodules in the liver. Generally, according to the nature of intrahepatic hypoechoic nodules, they are divided into malignant and non-malignant nodules, of which malignant nodules are relatively more serious. Normal liver echoes are more homogeneous and the intrahepatic ducts are well defined, and multiple hypoechoic nodules are rarely seen. Some space-occupying lesions in the liver may be characterized as hypoechoic, moderately echogenic, or hypoechoic nodules depending on their composition. Depending on the nature of the hypoechoic nodule, the severity of the disease varies. 1. If intrahepatic hypoechoic nodules are considered to be hepatic cysts, hepatic hemangiomas, hepatic abscesses, etc., the condition of the nodules is not serious, and close observation, regular review, or symptomatic treatment is usually needed. 2. If multiple hypoechoic nodules in the liver are considered to be primary or secondary malignant tumors of the liver, the condition is serious and it is generally recommended to further improve the examination such as enhanced MRI or enhanced CT of the upper abdomen, and puncture biopsy of the liver nodules is required if necessary to clarify their nature and take further treatment measures. Therefore, once multiple hypoechoic liver nodules are detected by ultrasound, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital as soon as possible for further diagnosis and treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
