Lung nodules that grow 1 mm on review after 3 months are recommended to be reviewed regularly and need thoracoscopic resection of the nodule if necessary.
Lung nodules are granulomatous lesions of the lungs with an unclear cause, which are mainly common in the lungs. In general, lung nodules are mostly inflammatory lesions that can disappear on their own; however, some nodules are malignant and will gradually increase in size. If the lung nodules are found to be enlarged during the regular review of the lung nodules, it indicates that the nodules are malignant in nature.
For lung nodules that have grown 1 mm after 3 months of review, regular checkups such as CT plain + enhancement of the lungs can help to understand the development of the lung nodules, and can compensate for the errors generated by a single measurement, so as to get an overall picture of the lung nodule situation. Thoracoscopic pulmonary nodule resection is performed to treat the lung nodule if necessary.
