Treatment of low back pain after lumbar anesthesia

Post-anesthesia low back pain is mainly caused by certain injuries during the puncture process, and also related to the patient’s own existing low back diseases, as well as the possible damage to the periosteum and ligaments during the puncture process. If the symptoms are not serious, bed rest, hot compresses, local physiotherapy and oral painkillers can be used for rapid recovery. Those with more severe pain can be locally injected with a closed needle. The pain after lumbar anesthesia can usually be basically relieved after 48 hours of conservative treatment and will not cause severe back pain. If patients already have serious lumbar diseases before anesthesia, intralesional anesthesia is usually not chosen to avoid the risk of aggravating lumbar pain.
