Lianhua Qingdian can be used in combination with cephalosporins (e.g. cefadroxil, cefixime, etc.), but it is recommended that the two drugs be taken more than half an hour apart.
The efficacy of Lianhua Qingdian Capsule is to clear distemper and detoxify (remove distemper-heat and toxicity), and to promote the lungs to release heat. It is commonly used in the treatment of wind-heat colds, such as epidemic viral colds and common colds. Its adverse reactions include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, abdominal distension, regurgitation, as well as skin rash, itching, etc. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to the drug.
Cephalosporins are mainly used to treat infections caused by sensitive bacteria, such as lobar pneumonia and bacterial pneumonia. Adverse reactions to cephalosporins include: anaphylaxis, rash, erythema, itching and so on. It is important to note: they are contraindicated in people who are allergic to cephalosporin antibiotics.
