How long does it take to get the results of a breast puncture biopsy

Generally, the results of breast puncture biopsy are available in 5-7 days. The puncture biopsy is performed under ultrasound guidance, and multiple punctures are performed on the breast nodules, and the tissue is taken out for pathological examination, so as to further clarify whether the nodules are benign or malignant. If the nodule is considered benign, it can usually be observed regularly or treated with minimally invasive surgery. If the pathology results suggest malignancy or abnormal cellular proliferation, surgical excision is recommended, but of course, intraoperative rapid cryopathological examination of the mass after excision is required for further clarification. If the intraoperative freezing confirms that it is breast cancer, a modified radical breast cancer surgery will be required in time.
