What is Elastography

Ultrasound elastography is an examination modality that has been developing rapidly in recent years. Common examination modalities include A-ultrasound, B-ultrasound, C-ultrasound, and elastography is E-ultrasound. Imaging means can only be used to observe lesion morphology and size, and blood flow microperfusion can be observed by contrast, but the softness of the lesion is not known. Elastography is based on this need, and can be divided into external compression elastography and internal compression elastography. Regardless of external or internal compression, the pressure applied to the lesion can cause displacement of the observed tissue under pressure, and the measurement of this displacement can determine the softness and hardness of the tissue.
