What are the benefits and effects of Sofantinib?

The efficacy and action of Sofantinib mainly play a role in the treatment of cancer by inhibiting cancer neoangiogenesis and regulating the immune function of patients. It is indicated for locally advanced or metastatic, progressive non-functional, well-differentiated (G1, G2) non-pancreatic-derived neuroendocrine tumors and pancreatic-derived neuroendocrine tumors that cannot be surgically resected. Sofantinib is an orally administered targeted drug in the kinase inhibitor class. This targeted drug binds to a target on the endothelial cells of blood vessels, which impairs the formation of blood vessels in the cancer, causing the cancer to undergo necrosis due to lack of blood supply. Sofantinib can also regulate the cancer patient’s own immune function, so that the body’s macrophage function with the role of killing cancer cells is restored, and play a role in causing cancer cells to die and cancer necrosis. Currently, Sofantinib is mainly approved for use in inoperable locally advanced or metastatic, progressive non-functional, well-differentiated (G1, G2) non-pancreatic-derived neuroendocrine tumors and pancreatic-derived neuroendocrine tumors. Adverse reactions such as proteinuria, hypertension, elevated blood bilirubin, diarrhea, decreased blood albumin, and elevated blood triglycerides are associated with drug use. The drug is not recommended for use in children, women during pregnancy and lactation. It should be used with caution in patients with hepatic and renal insufficiency and is contraindicated in severe hepatic insufficiency. The drug treatment needs to follow the doctor’s instructions.
