ST elevation refers to the elevation of the ST segment on the ECG compared to the normal level, which can appear as specific ST segment elevation or non-specific ST segment elevation. The elevation may be horizontal, or it may have a characteristic tombstone-like ECG. In acute myocardial infarction, ST-segment elevation may be dome-shaped, saddle-shape elevation, or giant R-shaped elevation. Patients with ST-segment elevation combined with symptoms such as chest tightness and chest pain often indicate myocardial infarction and require prompt and systematic related treatment.
