What’s gastric reversal?

Gastric reversal is the twisting of the stomach away from its original normal position. Gastric reversal is divided into two types: congenital and acquired. Congenital gastric reversal is mostly due to the imperfect development of infants, which means that the stability of the stomach is not strong enough, and gastric reversal will occur if the ligaments supporting the stomach are loose. It can be corrected and repositioned by using the body position, letting the baby lie on the right side, congenital gastric inversion in infancy will be corrected on its own with the continuous improvement of the baby’s body functions, while acquired gastric inversion is mostly caused by pathologic reasons, such as acute gastric dilatation. If the contents of the stomach and duodenum cannot be discharged in time, it will cause violent dilatation of the stomach, vomiting and gastric reversal, etc. For acute gastric distension, medicines such as Xiangsha Nourishing Stomach Pill and Mu Xiang Shun Qi Pill can be taken to alleviate the symptoms.
