There is no such thing as the four foods that qi stagnation and blood stasis (blood stagnation due to lack of qi flow) fears most. Food alone does not cure the disease; medicines such as Chai Hu, Chuan Xiong, Yan Hu Suo, Tao Ren, Safflower and Angelica can be used. Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome is mostly due to emotional disorders (unsettled emotions), or internal obstruction by phlegm-dampness, yin-cold, or injuries due to falls and bruises, which cause qi stagnation (obstruction of qi’s flow) and poor qi and blood flow. Patients may show localized pain in the chest and ribs (chest and ribs), distension and pain in the abdomen, even stabbing pain, fixed pain, refusing to be pressed, or hard lumps, localized bruising and swelling, or depression, impatience and irritability, and in women, menstrual dysfunction, dark purplish menstruation or clots, menstrual closure or menstrual cramps, and so on. Patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome can be treated with medicines such as Chai Hu, Chuan Xiong, Yan Hu Suo, Citrus aurantium, Xiang Fu, etc., which are used to relax liver qi (regulate stagnation of liver qi), and medicines such as Momordica charantia, safflower, Angelica sinensis, frankincense, myrrh, etc., which are used to activate blood circulation and remove stagnation of blood (to promote the operation of the blood and eliminate stagnation of the blood in the body). If there is any related condition, it is recommended to treat it under the guidance of a professional physician, and not to blindly use medication on one’s own.
