Fracture external fixation splint is not firm, need to adjust the fixation, if necessary, can replace the cast, re-immobilization.
After the fracture, if the alignment is good or after manipulation, the fracture is in good position, often take the splint for external fixation. Splinting requires a certain degree of tightness.
If the splint is too tight, it may affect the blood circulation of the distal limb, which may cause swelling or even ischemic necrosis of the distal limb. If the binding is too loose, it can not play a role in fixing the fracture, and easily cause the fracture to be re-displaced.
1. Adjustment of fixation: If the external fixation splint of the fracture is not firm, it is necessary to re-fix the binding and adjust the tightness of the splint.
2. Re-fixation: If it is still not firm, it can be replaced with plaster fixation. The stability of plaster fixation is more reliable than splint.
After the fracture splinting, you must go to the hospital for regular checkups and adjust the splinting as well as rehabilitation exercises under the doctor’s guidance, do not do it by yourself in order to avoid delaying the condition.
