How is allergic rhinitis treated?

First, the main method for the radical treatment of allergic rhinitis is desensitization therapy (the course of treatment lasts at least 1.5 years, preferably four years, and cannot be interrupted; when interrupting the course of treatment, it is necessary to start from the corresponding front end according to the situation, and the monthly medical cost is about 200 yuan out), followed by Chinese medicine therapy (the course of treatment lasts at least three months, and can be intermittently carried out for more than one year. Due to intermittent treatment, recurrence of symptoms may occur during the course of treatment). Second, Western medicine can control symptoms quickly (some patients can also control symptoms quickly when treated with Chinese medicine), and Chinese medicine therapy can consolidate the effect (Western medicine can rarely consolidate the effect), but the speed of effect is not as fast as Western medicine in most cases (Western medicine can take effect quickly in most cases). Third, so when desensitization therapy is possible, it is best to carry out desensitization therapy; but when desensitization therapy cannot be carried out, it is best to use Chinese medicine as the main method, with the Western medicine treatment can achieve more desirable results. Fourth, if you only want to maintain the effect for about six months (it is likely to recur later), you can use the method of submucosal injection of hormone in the inferior turbinate (it needs to be injected several times, 1-2 times a week for several weeks. Serious complications may occur in a very, very small number of patients). Western surgical therapy can also generally maintain efficacy for at least six months. The occurrence of allergic rhinitis is mainly related to an atopic constitution, which is, in fact, an allergic constitution. In people with allergies, endocrine function, plant nervous system function, and immune function are mostly in a state of dysfunction, so they are prone to allergies to certain substances, and repeatedly feeling such substances causes allergic reactions and manifestations of the disease. Allergic body can be improved, then, allergic rhinitis can no longer attack; allergic body can also be transformed from not allergic body. Some women develop allergic rhinitis after childbirth, which is actually caused by a weakened constitution after childbirth, in line with the principle of Chinese medicine that “when evil is played, its qi must be deficient” – because childbirth and breastfeeding deplete a person’s positive qi. Allergies can also be inherited. If parents have a history of allergic diseases, their children may also be prone to allergic diseases. However, allergic rhinitis itself is not hereditary, which means that parents with a history of allergic rhinitis or asthma do not necessarily have children with allergic rhinitis. The diagnosis of allergic rhinitis is generally not difficult. The main points of diagnosis are as follows: 1. Paroxysmal nasal itching, and at the same time there are several sneezes (a few sufferers due to the severity of sneezing, may cause the rupture of the nasal mucosa and lead to rhinorrhea), followed by a large amount of clear mucus, the duration is usually not long, a few seconds to a few minutes, after the attack and no difference with the normal state. This symptom is easy to occur in case of cold or hot air stimulation (so it is easy to occur in the morning, evening and night), irritating gas stimulation, etc., and it happens mostly every day. In the case of perennial, it occurs in all seasons; in the case of seasonal, it occurs only during the season when pollen from certain plants is dispersed in the air. In addition to nasal symptoms, it may be accompanied by itchy eyes, itchy ears, itchy throat, and in some cases, itchy skin, or allergic symptoms such as asthma attacks. Many patients have a family history of allergic diseases (referring to those who may have a history of allergic diseases in the paternal line, maternal line, or siblings). 2. If you want to know what you are allergic to, you should generally perform an allergen test. There are various methods of allergen testing, the most common being subcutaneous injection of allergen on the arm. If one is allergic to a substance, within 15 minutes, red spots will appear on the skin area where the substance was injected that exceed the normal reaction range, which is called a positive skin test. + is mild, 4 + is the most severe (very severe). If the reaction is not positive, it is indicated by “-“, which is a negative skin test. 3. If the skin test is negative, allergic rhinitis cannot be completely excluded. Because the allergens used are usually limited, it is possible to be allergic to something else. In order to confirm the diagnosis, the doctor will take other diagnostic measures to confirm the diagnosis if necessary. 4. If the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis is difficult to make using a variety of tests, the doctor may make a diagnosis of other diseases based on the medical history and other relevant circumstances. There are two main types of these other diseases: vasomotor rhinitis and non-allergic eosinophilic rhinitis. The latter two diseases are not different from allergic rhinitis in the general treatment of Western medicine, so in most cases (except for scientific research), doctors do not conduct complicated examinations; if Chinese medicine is used for treatment, and there is no need for scientific research, Chinese medicine doctors do not need to conduct these complicated examinations; patients also do not need to have any burden of thinking that the diagnosis is unknown. Some patients talk about “frequent colds”, which actually refers to allergic rhinitis, because the symptoms and medical history are consistent with allergic rhinitis; but some patients talk about their frequent colds, or easy to catch a cold, may indeed be a cold (also known as acute rhinitis). Cold (acute rhinitis) is characterized by: mostly caused by cold, first of all, discomfort around the body, or headache, chill, fever, early dryness in the nose, sneezing, runny nose, which lasts 1-2 days, then the nose turns sticky and nasal congestion worsens, and after treatment, gradually improves. The natural course of a cold has about seven days, and the course of the disease varies with different manifestations. However, allergic rhinitis is a daily attack, every day, and does not have the characteristics of different symptoms with different duration of illness. This is the difference between cold (acute rhinitis) and allergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis will have some effect when treated according to cold (acute rhinitis) (anti-cold medicine has some effect of anti-pathogenic), but it cannot solve the problem of recurrence, so it is always difficult to cure completely; while acute rhinitis is easy to recur, mainly caused by poor physical condition.
