What’s the point of having your ovaries pierced

Ovarian perforation is primarily used in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome to improve the ovarian ovulation role and restore the patient’s fertility. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a reproductive endocrine metabolic disorder. Women with polycystic ovary syndrome may have enlarged ovaries with thickened peritoneum, multiple follicles in the ovaries without dominant follicles, and no ovarian ovulation signs. Through ovarian perforation, ovarian ovulation can be promoted for the purpose of conception. However, ovarian perforation is not routinely used in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. Instead, the patient needs to undergo a comprehensive lifestyle intervention and choose the corresponding medication under the guidance of the doctor, such as ethinylestradiol cyproterone, metformin, clomiphene citrate, letrozole, etc. In general, if the medication fails to work, the patient will be treated with a new medication. Ovarian perforation may be chosen in cases where medication is not effective.
