Early stage esophageal cancer can be treated without surgery

China is a country with high incidence of esophageal cancer. The incidence of esophageal cancer is geographically distributed. Henan, Hebei and Shanxi are the regions with high incidence of esophageal cancer. Recent studies have shown that in the region of Hebei province with high incidence of esophageal cancer, cardia cancer is also high. It is well known that advanced cancer of the digestive tract is poorly treated, costly and has a low survival rate. Therefore, the key to prevention and treatment of GI cancer is early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment. Compared with surgery, minimally invasive endoscopic treatment for early-stage cancer has the advantages of no incision, low cost, high survival quality, few complications and high five-year survival rate, which is currently recognized as the best treatment means to reduce the mortality rate and increase the survival rate of GI cancer. At present, minimally invasive endoscopic treatment methods for early-stage cancer and precancerous lesions are divided into two categories: mucosal destruction method and mucosal resection method, which are represented by argon ion coagulation technique (APC) and mucosal resection technique (EMR), respectively.
