What are the signs of hyperthyroidism?

Hyperthyroidism is a group of hypermetabolic syndromes caused by various reasons, mainly high concentration of thyroid hormones in the blood. The main manifestations of hyperthyroidism are as follows: i. Hypermetabolic symptoms, mainly manifested as fear of heat, excessive sweating, panic, hand trembling, irritability, easily agitated, and protruding eyes. Second, the digestive system, may have symptoms such as overeating, easy hunger, weight loss, increased stool frequency, etc. A few patients may have liver function damage. Third, the cardiovascular system, manifested as palpitations, accelerated heart rate, increased myocardial contraction, increased blood pressure, and in serious cases, arrhythmia may occur, causing hyperthyroid heart disease. Fourth, it can manifest as muscle weakness, or even hyperthyroidism myopathy, and a few patients may have hypokalemic paralysis. V. Male patients may have hypogonadism, and female patients may affect menstruation and show reduced menstrual flow. Sixth, there may be enlargement or nodules of the thyroid gland. VII. Severe hyperthyroidism can occur under infection and other causative factors, which can endanger the patient’s life.
