Does it hurt to draw blood from a vein?

In general, phlebotomy may be mildly painful as long as you get the essentials and prepare well, it is not very painful, but of course it is also related to the individual’s sensitivity and tolerance to pain. First of all, it is important to communicate with the patient to reduce the patient’s nervousness, to relax the patient, to explain the work well if necessary, to get the patient’s cooperation and to be psychologically prepared. In addition, the venipuncture site should be strictly disinfected from the inside out, and the disinfected site should not be touched again, and a relatively straight vessel should be selected for puncture. When removing the puncture needle, the puncture site should be pressed with a cotton swab to prevent bruising or hematoma conditions caused by local bleeding. Only pressure is needed, do not rub back and forth, and try to avoid repeated punctures. Generally, venipuncture should be stopped after three unsuccessful punctures.
