Is it normal to have bruises in the abdomen?

The normal human abdomen has bruises, which are superficial blood vessels, but normal superficial blood vessels are not usually revealed. When there are veins in the abdominal wall or varices in the abdominal wall, it is mainly seen in the formation of collateral circulation caused by portal hypertension in the post-hepatitis cirrhosis stage, that is, high portal pressure leads to the opening of the collateral circulation of the abdominal wall veins, thus manifesting as superficial varices in the abdominal wall, which is also called “sea serpent head” in clinical practice. Treatment of this condition usually includes hepatoprotection, human albumin infusion, diuresis, and other symptomatic treatments. In case of splenomegaly and hypersplenism, further surgical treatment is usually required, either by dissection or bypass surgery.
