Does iodophor leave color when applied to a wound?

If iodophor is applied to the wound, it may leave a slight yellow color, especially if the amount of iodophor applied to the wound is large, but only a slight pigmentation, which will not remain after washing, and there will be no scarring. Because iodophor is a very common clinical antiseptic solution, it has very little irritation to the skin mucosa and the yellow color will be slowly eliminated after the wound is removed. In some patients, the color will be completely eliminated by washing after wound healing, and alcohol can be used instead of iodophor for disinfection, which can eliminate the color left by iodophor. However, alcohol has a dehydrating effect and tends to dry out the skin. The color left by iodophor on the wound is only temporary and is not a cause for concern.
