The causes of fetal scoliosis include congenital developmental factors, neuromuscular factors and exposure of the mother to teratogenic factors.
1. Congenital developmental factors: the most common type of scoliosis, mostly due to the spine in the embryonic period in the vertebral segmentation is incomplete, one side of the bone bridge or one side of the vertebral body development is incomplete, or a mixture of the two factors mentioned above, resulting in bilateral growth asymmetry of the spinal column, thus causing scoliosis, known as idiopathic scoliosis.
2. Neuromuscular factor: It is categorized into neurogenic and myogenic, which is mostly caused by the imbalance of muscle strength due to the poor development or disease of nerves or muscles, especially the imperfect development of paravertebral muscles, and the asymmetry between the left and right sides.
3. The probability of fetal scoliosis deformity increases a lot during the preparation for pregnancy or pregnancy due to the mother’s exposure to a teratogenic environment, working or living or even being completely exposed to chemical, physical and other environments that cause fetal malformations.
Please seek medical advice as soon as you realize that your fetus has a scoliosis deformity, and decide on treatment measures under the guidance of your doctor.
