What does stroke mean?

A minor stroke is a stroke with mild clinical symptoms. Minor strokes are defined as cerebral infarcts with only mild neurological deficits or lacunar infarctions, with a National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score of 0-3. Its clinical symptoms are mild and it is the most common type of stroke. Its incidence is five times higher than that of major stroke, and repeated episodes can lead to paralysis or death of the patient, so it must be given sufficient attention. The disease often occurs in the elderly, and hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption are all risk factors for the disease. Prompt medical treatment is recommended when mini-strokes occur, and related risk factors should be actively controlled to prevent recurrence and further progression.
