Auricular cysts are cystic lesions that occur in the auricle and develop slowly. They are divided into two categories, true cysts and pseudocysts, according to their pathologic structure. 1. True cysts: such as epidermoid cysts, sebaceous cysts, etc., whose walls are lined with epithelium. 2. Pseudocysts: such as traumatic cystic hematoma, cystic chondritis, etc., for the accumulation of fluid in the interstitial space, without lining epithelium. Clinically, true cysts are more common. The treatment of true cysts is based on surgical excision; pseudocysts should be punctured and aspirated and localized pressure should be applied under aseptic conditions, and surgical excision can be considered for those who do not recover after a long time. Auricular cysts are recommended to be actively consulted for accurate diagnosis by a specialist and standardized treatment according to the nature and characteristics of the disease.
