Cost of laser repair of fundus fissures

If a retinal fissure exists, it can be restored to normal early on with retinal laser photocoagulation, which is a very routine operation in ophthalmology and the cost of the procedure is not too high, at around$300-500. However, there are clear indications for this procedure, which is only indicated for retinal fissures that are detected early and are not accompanied by retinal detachment. If there is not simply a retinal fissure, but a retinal detachment or subretinal fluid, retinal laser photocoagulation is not recommended for treatment, as the procedure has a limited effect and does not serve to reset the retina. If the detachment is large or prolonged, early retinal repositioning surgery is recommended, including extra-scleral pad pressure, scleral ring ligation or vitrectomy combined with retinal repositioning surgery.
