Please don’t miss out on shingles treatment

Herpes zoster is a viral skin disease characterized by neuralgia and herpes zoster rash distributed along the peripheral nerves caused by varicella-zoster virus infection, which is equivalent to the Chinese medicine category of “tangled waist and fire dan”, “snake sores” or “spider sores”. It is equivalent to the category of “spider sores” in Chinese medicine. Herpes zoster can be seen in all seasons, with easy onset in spring and autumn, often after stressful work or emotional discomfort, and can occur in any part of the body, mostly in the lower back. The rash is often preceded by prodromal symptoms of varying severity, painful discomfort may precede the rash, and clusters of blisters are often distributed along certain peripheral nerve sites, preferably unilaterally, with symptoms of nearby lymph node enlargement. The blisters dry, crust, and peel off, leaving temporary hyperpigmented patches. In severe cases, there may be local skin necrosis, and infections into carbuncles have also been seen, leaving scars after healing. The degree of nerve pain is proportional to age, with children with herpes zoster often having mild or no pain and older patients having severe pain; even unbearable. Some middle-aged and older patients with herpes zoster may have intractable neuralgia and dysfunction after the rash subsides, often lasting several months or longer. Pain is the prodromal symptom, and it is easy to misdiagnose the disease before the rash appears, and it is easy to misdiagnose it as heart disease, acute appendicitis, cholecystitis, renal colic, frozen shoulder, etc. only after the rash appears. Early antiviral and neuritis control treatment is the key to avoiding the occurrence of post-neuralgia. Therefore, when you have pain in the skin, in addition to considering possible internal, external and gynecological diseases, please do not forget that there is also shingles! Please do not miss the treatment of shingles!
