Examination of bleeding gums

Bleeding gums are a common symptom of oral diseases, mostly seen in gingivitis and periodontitis. However, it should be noted that some systemic diseases that cause gingival bleeding such as acute and chronic leukemia, liver cirrhosis, and hypersplenism may also cause gingival bleeding. Patients with bleeding gums need timely examination and early prevention. Examination of gum bleeding: 1. Patient complaints: such as bleeding gums from eating hard objects, bleeding from brushing teeth, spontaneous bleeding, etc. 2.Oral examination: check whether there is gum bleeding in the patient’s mouth and the local factors associated with it, including gingivitis, tartar, periodontal pockets, local trauma, etc. If any one of the above two items is met, and bleeding from sources such as the digestive tract and respiratory tract is excluded, the examination is diagnosed as gum bleeding.
