Generally speaking, 80-90% of artificial joints can be used normally for 10-15 years after surgery. However, the post-operative life of the artificial joint is affected by many factors, mainly as follows: 1, whether the choice of artificial joint prosthesis is reasonable and appropriate. 2, the quality of the surgical operation of the artificial joint, the position and stability of the prosthesis after implantation. 3, the intrinsic quality of the tissue around the artificial joint, such as the presence of bone abnormalities, soft tissue tension and balance is good. 4.Whether recent (e.g., dislocation of the prosthesis) or long-term complications (e.g., periprosthetic osteolysis, infection, loosening of the prosthesis, etc.) occur after the artificial joint surgery. 5, the frequency and intensity of use of the patient after the artificial joint surgery. The first four of these points are mainly related to the treatment of the doctor, the last point is closely related to the patient’s own factors. Postoperative activity is small, the use of patients with less, the artificial joint life is relatively long; postoperative activity is large, the use of frequent patients, the artificial joint life is correspondingly shortened. Therefore, from the patient’s point of view, the service life of the artificial joint should not be simply based on time as a standard and measure, but is closely related to how the patient specifically uses it after surgery.
