Herbal treatment for patients with Parkinson’s syndrome

Patient Sun, male, 65 years old, was diagnosed with “neurogenic tremor syndrome (Parkinson’s)” in a tertiary hospital in Shenyang in 2005 due to trembling, dizziness, drooling, insomnia, nightmares, excessive sweating, chest tightness, shortness of breath, phlegm, fear of cold, recurrent colds and constipation, etc. He was given 4-5 tablets of methadone 3/day. As the above symptoms did not improve, he still sweated a lot (washed out), drooled severely, had unconscious spasms, twisting and shaking of the limbs, and had severe insomnia and could not lie down, he came to this clinic in December 2013 to seek Chinese medicine treatment. He was treated with Chinese herbal soup with reduction. After taking the medicine for one week, the patient was able to sit up, sweating, insomnia, trembling, drooling and constipation were significantly improved, and the dosage of Medopa had been gradually reduced to 3 tablets, 3/day. The patient was able to walk on his own after more than 1 year of herbal treatment (the coordination of gait is still a bit different from normal people). At present, after monthly follow-up and adjustment of herbal prescription, the patient has entered a more stable state.
