It is an oral progestin which puts the endometrium into the full secretory phase and thus may prevent the risk of estrogen-induced endometrial hyperplasia and cancer. Clinically, the drug is used to treat disorders caused by endogenous progesterone deficiency, such as dysmenorrhea, endometriosis, secondary amenorrhea, irregular menstrual cycles, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, premenstrual syndrome, progesterone deficiency-induced preeclampsia or habitual abortion, and infertility due to luteal insufficiency. Adverse reactions such as headache, nausea, vaginal bleeding, menstrual disorders, breast pain after use. Known or suspected progesterone-dependent tumors, known or suspected sex hormone-related malignant tumors, unexplained vaginal bleeding are prohibited. Use with caution in patients with acute liver disease or history of liver disease and liver function has not returned to normal; use with caution in patients with galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose absorption disorders of rare hereditary diseases.
