Oral mucosal detachment is associated with immunity.
Disturbances in the body’s immunity can trigger a variety of diseases that lead to oral mucosal detachment. For example, oral lichen planus, the development of which is related to immune factors, is effectively treated with corticosteroids and immunosuppressants; discoid lupus erythematosus is mostly thought to be an autoimmune disease caused by the disruption of the body’s normal autoimmune tolerance mechanisms and the occurrence of multiple immune abnormalities; and aspergillosis is caused by the body’s production of anti-Dsg autoantibodies, resulting in the loosening of the sphenoid layer and the formation of blisters.
