What should I do if I still have pain eight months after femoral head replacement?

Eight months after femoral head replacement, there is still pain, which may be caused by periprosthetic infection, loose prosthesis, etc. Different causes are treated in different ways.
1. Periprosthetic infection: generally manifested as persistent pain and activity limitation, joint redness, swelling, heat and pain, recurrent nocturnal joint pain, resting pain and other symptoms after the operation.
For some patients with early infection, it is possible to perform thorough debridement and anti-infection treatment with antibiotics while preserving the prosthesis. Most other cases require revision surgery, usually two surgeries, the first for complete debridement and the second for reinsertion of the prosthesis.
2. Loosening of the prosthesis: generally manifested as hip pain, femoral shaft percussion pain, pain in external rotation of the hip joint and other symptoms. Osteolysis is usually seen on X-ray. It can be categorized into aseptic loosening and infected loosening, both of which require revision surgery.
There are many other causes of pain after femoral head replacement. If the pain is not relieved after femoral head replacement, or accompanied by other symptoms, you should go to the hospital in time, and give targeted treatment after clarifying the cause.
