Left temporal lobe localized cerebral contusion can be intervened through general treatment, drug treatment and surgery.
1. General treatment: bed rest is needed after the injury; some patients can follow the doctor’s instruction to inhale oxygen; if there are symptoms of vomiting, it is necessary to ensure that the vomit can be discharged smoothly to avoid aspiration. For those without active bleeding and other contraindications to hyperbaric oxygen, hyperbaric oxygen therapy should be started as soon as possible after the condition is stabilized.
2. Drug therapy, drugs need to be used under the guidance of the doctor.
(1) Cranial pressure lowering treatment: including the use of mannitol and other dehydrating drugs, as well as prednisone and other glucocorticoid drugs, so as to reduce the inflammatory response and cerebral edema, reduce the symptoms of increased intracranial pressure.
(2) Epilepsy treatment: If epileptic symptoms such as limb convulsions and loss of consciousness occur after the injury, it may be epilepsy secondary to brain injury, and antiepileptic drugs such as lamotrigine and phenytoin sodium can be used for intervention. For acute seizures, sedative drugs such as diazepam can also be used for control.
3. Surgery: If there is progressive aggravation of consciousness disorder, severe cerebral edema which is ineffective in conservative treatment, or the combined intracranial hematoma reaches the surgical indication, surgical treatment is needed, which mainly includes decompression of the bone flap, hematoma removal, and so on.
Cerebral contusion is recommended to go to the hospital in time, and under the guidance of the doctor active treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
