Closed mouth acne is also called closed acne. Skin with closed acne and roughness is considered to be related to high sebum secretion, abnormal keratinization and hyperplasia of sebaceous gland ducts of hair follicles, proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes, and elevated androgen levels.
1. High sebum secretion: Frequent consumption of spicy and stimulating, oily and sweet foods may increase the secretion of sebaceous glands. Sebum can absorb, oxygen in the air into viscous liquid, not easy to discharge, thus blocking the pores, easy to form closed mouth acne.
2. Abnormal keratinization and hyperplasia of follicular sebaceous gland ducts: Abnormal ducts of follicular sebaceous gland ducts and hyperplasia of follicular sebaceous gland ducts may block the pores, resulting in obstruction of discharge and triggering closed-cell acne.
3. Proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes: Abnormal keratinization and hyperplasia of hair follicles and sebaceous gland ducts may block the pores, resulting in obstruction of drainage and eventual formation of closed mouth acne.
4. Elevated androgen levels: Hormone levels in the body change during puberty, such as elevated androgen levels. Androgens can promote the secretion of sebaceous glands, leading to an increase in sebum production. The free fatty acid content inside the sebum is elevated, and the hair follicles and sebaceous gland ducts are over-keratinized, which may result in clogged pores and the formation of closed pimples.
It is recommended to pay attention to facial cleansing, improve bad habits, and reduce the intake of stimulating foods. If the symptoms are obvious, go to the dermatology department of the hospital if necessary.
