What is cerebral palsy?

        Cerebral palsy, or cerebral palsy for short, is usually a central movement disorder caused by non-progressive brain injury or abnormal brain development from before birth to one month after birth, and is clinically characterized by abnormal posture and muscle tone, involuntary movements and ataxia. It is often accompanied by sensory, cognitive, communication, and behavioral deficits, and may be associated with seizures.
