Pediatric cryptorchidism should be treated early

Cryptorchidism means that after 2 months of birth, the testicles do not descend into the scrotum and are located in the abdominal cavity or groin. According to statistics, if cryptorchidism is operated before the age of 2, 87.7% of the testes will have fertility in adulthood; if the testes are operated at the age of 3-4, 57.1% will have fertility in adulthood; the older the operation, the lower the fertility after the operation, so it is better to operate before the age of 2. 2, prone to malignant change: due to environmental changes and fertility disorders, cryptorchid testis is very prone to malignant change, and the chance of malignant change is 35 times that of normal testis; 3, prone to injury: inguinal type cryptorchid testis is superficially located and easily bruised; 4, psychological disorder: there is no testis in the scrotum, and the change of external genital morphology will make the affected children have low self-esteem and psychological disorder; due to parental negligence or lack of medical knowledge, a considerable number of children with cryptorchid testis are not operated. Due to parents’ negligence or lack of medical knowledge, a considerable number of children with cryptorchidism are not treated in time, so that they become sterile in adulthood, or cause testicular tumor, resulting in lifelong regret, and parents regret too much. Parents should pay enough attention to cryptorchidism in boys and strive for early detection and early treatment. For many years, our hospital has adopted minimally invasive small incision surgery to treat cryptorchidism, without removing stitches, with little pain and quick recovery. In the past few years, we have applied laparoscopic technology to the diagnosis and treatment of cryptorchidism and achieved satisfactory results, which is well received by parents of children.
