Cuttlebone is effective in consolidating spermatozoa and stopping leucorrhea, astringent and hemostasis (treating bleeding conditions with drugs that have astringent properties), acid control and pain relief (suppressing gastric acid and relieving pain), and has been shown to be useful in the treatment of spermatorrhea and slippery spermatozoa, and deficiencies of the liver and kidneys. The contraindications of the drug are unclear. Cuttlebone is the dried inner shell of the needleless squid or golden squid of the squid family. It is salty, astringent and warm in nature, and belongs to the spleen and kidney meridians. It has the efficacy of astringent and stopping bleeding, astringent and stopping leucorrhoea, suppressing acidity and relieving pain, and collecting dampness and astringing sores, and can be used for vomiting blood and epistaxis, leakage of menstruation (menstruation with excessive amount of menstruation or more than a drip), blood in the stool, seminal emission and slippery spermatozoa, red and white leucorrhoea (abnormal leucorrhoea with blood or clots in it), stomach ache and other disorders. The adverse reactions and contraindications of the drug are not clear, but avoid eating spicy and stimulating food while taking it.
