Class 3 thyroid nodules are the ultrasound classification of thyroid nodules, and class 3 thyroid nodules generally do not resolve on their own. Thyroid nodules are one of the more common disorders of the thyroid gland and are generally categorized into 6 classes. class 3 thyroid nodules have a high likelihood of being benign, with a <2% malignancy rate possible. If category 3 thyroid nodules have a tendency to become malignant or increase significantly in size, surgical treatment may be required. If category 3 thyroid nodules are considered benign after evaluation by the clinician and do not have any uncomfortable symptoms, special treatment is generally not required, and regular rechecks of thyroid ultrasound can be performed. Type 3 thyroid nodules do not heal on their own. Thyroid nodules are usually caused by abnormal proliferation of localized thyroid cells, and usually do not go away on their own. Patients with category 3 thyroid nodules are advised to follow the doctor's instructions for standardized treatment.
