Most patients with meningiomas are awake 0.5 to 1 hour after surgery. The time needed for patients to be awake after meningioma surgery is mainly related to the patient’s sensitivity to anesthetics, and in general patients can be awake 0.5~1 hour after surgery. Some patients are more sensitive to anesthetics, and will take a little longer to wake up after surgery. For some patients with large meningiomas, the preoperative compression of brain tissue by the meningioma is heavier, and coupled with the pulling of brain tissue during the operation, there may be increased cerebral edema or cerebral hemorrhage after the operation, which will affect the patient’s wakefulness. If the patient is not awake for a longer period of time after the operation, the patient should inform the doctor in time.
