If the surgical treatment of liver cancer patients is relatively successful, the normal value of alpha-fetoprotein will basically be maintained below 25μg/L one month after surgery. Clinically, the index of alpha-fetoprotein test has very important reference significance in determining the postoperative period of liver cancer patients as well as whether they have metastasis or recurrence. If the index of alpha-fetoprotein does not decrease obviously, or if the value of alpha-fetoprotein gradually increases or fluctuates repeatedly with the passage of time, it means that the hepatocellular tumor has not reached the necrosis effect, or there are other foci, or metastatic foci are present after ruling out the active liver disease. In this case, a detailed review of ultrasound, CT and MRI is necessary for early intervention.
