How long does the plate removal surgery take?

The time to remove the plate varies from person to person, usually around 1-1.5 hours. After one year of fracture plate fixation, if the fracture heals well, the plate can be removed. This surgery usually requires hospitalization and the time to remove the plate varies according to the fracture site and the healing situation. If the time after fracture is short, the bone scab around the plate is less and the screw is easy to remove, the plate can be completely removed in about 1 hour. In addition, if there are multiple plates, the time to remove them will be extended accordingly. Therefore, the specific time for the plate removal surgery depends on the healing of the fracture, the number of plates, the technical level of the surgeon and other comprehensive situations.
