Early pregnancy ultrasound is important

Some women are psychologically resistant to having an ultrasound after pregnancy, fearing that it will have a bad effect on the embryo. In fact, there is no need to worry, the ultrasound of early pregnancy will not have a negative impact on the embryo, but has many benefits. One look: whether the embryo is in the uterus or outside the uterus. Nowadays, there are about 2-3 ectopic pregnancies in every 100 pregnant women, and once the diagnosis is missed, the consequences are unthinkable. Second look: whether it is 1, 2, or 3 embryos. Twin and multiple pregnancies are not only double and multiple surprises, but also a great risk and trouble. In case of twin and multiple fetuses, also determine the chorionicity, because there is a strong relationship between chorionicity and poor prognosis of the fetus. Third look: whether the embryo is dead or alive. In the normal population, the rate of embryo loss is about 15%. So for about 15% of pregnant women, the outcome will be disappointment. But on the flip side, miscarriage is not necessarily a bad thing because close to half of all spontaneous miscarriages are due to chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo, and miscarriage is a process of natural elimination and natural selection. Fourth look: whether there are abnormalities in the ovaries and uterus. Why should there be resistance when a simple early pregnancy ultrasound can have so many benefits? In fact, early pregnancy ultrasound is also an important measure for us to implement patient safety: the “confirmation system” to confirm that both the mother-to-be and the baby are okay!
