The overall treatment effect of depression is still good, and only a very small proportion of depressed patients are diagnosed as refractory depression, which is manifested by three or more antidepressant medications with unclear response effect, and poor effect by drug combination therapy. There are many types of antidepressant drugs that have been developed and classified. Clinically commonly used drugs such as sertraline and escitalopram of SSRI class, venlafaxine hydrochloride and duloxetine hydrochloride of SNRI class, and the relatively new agomelatine recently can cure depression well. If the patient has the condition, the combination of psychotherapy, such as cognitive psychotherapy and behavior modification therapy, on top of medication will increase the therapeutic effect of antidepressant drugs. Patients who have depression do not have to worry too much, the overall treatment is very effective, but they must go to a regular tertiary hospital for consultation and treatment.
