The human cervical spine has 7 segments, namely cervical 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, while cervical 3/4/5 herniation refers to the disc between cervical 3/4/5, the disc between cervical 5/6, and the disc between cervical 6/7, which actually refers to the above-mentioned disc herniation, and has no relationship with the severity, except that there are more segments, and the severity is determined by the degree of protrusion of the disc into the interior of the spinal canal. In addition, it is also related to the patient’s own performance, for example, it is more serious when there is numbness in the hands, lack of strength, not being able to grasp things firmly, walking on cotton, and not being able to walk, but the protrusion of only a few segments does not necessarily mean that the condition is serious. Early disc herniation is mainly conservative treatment, as follows: 1, do cervical traction, usually after the protrusion will be backward pressure to the nerve, and traction can be pulled away by the up and down force to reduce the pressure of the disc to the backward protrusion, and thus reduce the pressure on the nerve; 2, usually pay attention to rest, avoid keeping the head down; 3, can do physical therapy, massage, massage. If the dural sac of cervical 4/5/6 intervertebral disc is compressed, indicating a herniated disc, it can also be treated conservatively first. After conservative treatment symptoms are relieved, there is no numbness in the hands, and no pain or nerve symptoms, usually pay attention to prevention, do not lower your head, and do neck health exercises can be done. However, if nerve symptoms appear, such as numbness in the hands, no strength, and the feeling of stepping on cotton, you should go to the hospital as soon as possible. Once nerve symptoms appear in cervical spondylosis, early surgery is recommended. Because the effect of surgery recovery is good, if the nerve is pressed for too long afterwards, the effect of surgery recovery is poorer.
