Nasopharyngeal cancer can have brain metastasis with lower chance of cure. Brain metastasis of nasopharyngeal cancer indicates that the cancer has reached the advanced stage, which is usually difficult to be cured. However, through active treatment, it can relieve patients’ uncomfortable symptoms and prolong their life cycle. Brain metastasis of nasopharyngeal cancer indicates that nasopharyngeal cancer has entered into advanced stage and metastasis has occurred, and patients may have headache, dizziness, tongue extension and deflection and other uncomfortable symptoms, which are usually difficult to be cured. However, with active treatment, symptoms can be improved, survival time of patients can be prolonged and quality of life of patients can be improved. Radiation therapy is usually the first choice of treatment for nasopharyngeal cancer because most of the nasopharyngeal cancers are low-differentiated squamous carcinomas, which are more sensitive to radiation therapy. Radiotherapy can maximally concentrate the radiotherapy dose in the target area, which can kill tumor cells and reduce the damage to adjacent tissues, helping to improve the overall survival rate. Surgery is also feasible for some patients.
