Is lung nodule resection painful?

Pulmonary nodule resection, currently mostly single-port thoracoscopic resection, has less pain, faster recovery, early removal of the lesion, less trauma, and effective protection of lung function. Therefore, the painfulness of pulmonary nodule resection is related to the smoothness of the resection process and the absence of postoperative complications. If intraoperative hemorrhage occurs with hemopneumothorax, fluid pneumothorax, pleural adhesions, etc., postoperative patients may have complications such as recurrent cough, fever, and respiratory chest pain. If there is more pneumothorax, closed chest drainage can also be placed, indicating that such an operation is not very smooth and the patient suffers more. However, most patients can be considered to be discharged in one week after surgery without any complications due to the minimally invasive surgery and very little pain in removing the pulmonary nodules, and just pay attention to rest and conditioning after surgery.
